Of the 25 model homes and floor plans we looked at, this is the one we selected and are building on the new lot! Let’s take a little photo tour, shall we?
As you enter the house from the front door, there is a study right by the entryway. In this model home, they turned it into a 4th bedroom.
Another angle of the study/4th bedroom. We are keeping it as a study, so there won’t be a closet and we may put a bookshelf in that slot.
This is the powder room right next to the study:
This is back at the entryway, heading toward the living area. I can’t wait to print and hang some of our Safari photos on these walls!
The stairs leading to the 2nd floor. These metal railings are an upgrade, we are going to stick with the white wood railing to keep our white farmhouse look!
Here is the open kitchen with a view of the backyard. We are going to have all white kitchen cabinets. We opted for the extended island, just like this one in the model home, and we also upgraded to the gourmet kitchen with a separate vent hood and upgraded GE appliances. We will also have 2 pendant lights on the island in addition to the recessed lighting.
Really love this open kitchen design. This will be the most spacious kitchen we have ever had!
As we walk through the kitchen in the back, it is the “Owner’s Entry” or the mudroom where the garage entrance is:
On the other side is the walk-in pantry! I can’t wait to get this room organized with my (and the cats’) favorite snacks!
As we turn from the kitchen, this is the formal dining room:
And also the great room on the left:
Love how bright and airy the great room is and we can see the backyard as well:
Another view of the kitchen from the dining room:
As we walk up the stairs, there is an open loft at the top. We are going to use this as a 2nd family/living room as well.
Here is the view from the loft sofa – the first room on the left is the laundry room; the 2nd room is the guest bathroom.
View of the laundry room. We are keeping the 3 (white) upper cabinets above the washer and dryer, but we won’t have the sink/vanity and the upper cabinets on the right side. Instead, we are thinking of putting the cats’ litterboxes on the floor and add a few white wood shelves on the top.
This is the guest bathroom, and ours will just have one sink instead of this double sink and all white cabinets.
Guest bathroom shower: ours will have a shower rod (instead of the door) and the Piedrafina shower wall (instead of tiles).
This is the master suite:
The master bathroom with his and her sinks/vanities. Not shown: 2 walk-in closets between the bedroom and the bathroom.
The master bath tub:
We upgraded to this deluxe master shower, which is slightly bigger than the standard one.
Although we love the look of the frameless shower, we are going to keep the standard framed one because frameless showers always leak water. 🙁
This is guest bedroom #2 which we are going to turn into another walk-in closet:
Guest bedroom #3 and we are going to keep it as is in case we have guests and visitors in the future:
The view of the loft from the bedrooms. I think I am going to put a coffee bar/station along the wall on the right side between the laundry room and the guest bathroom!
Once we personalize our home with our own furnishings and all the selections we picked at the home gallery, we will photograph another home tour and blog about each room.
